Honda Jazz

Honda came out of the blue on 9th August 2010 to launch a new variant of the Honda Jazz. There was no long-term notice given about the car's launch. The car maker has given just a few finishing touches to the exteriors and interiors to make the premium hatch even better. In this article, let's find out what's so different in the newly launched Honda Jazz X.

Honda has given the Jazz a minor facelift on the outside and the interiors have been made a little more sophisticated with the addition of advanced features. Comfort level too gets a boost with changes in the seating arrangement. In other words, looks like Honda has just poured in comfort on the seats which now have more space for occupants and the arrangement can get very comfortable during longer journeys. The driver's seat too gets sportier and more convenient; it is now height adjustable.

There are a few more increased in the interiors; they obey the black and blue theme. That does give the car a streak of sophistication. Then, to make it more convenient for the occupants and their luggage, Honda has added a new rear parcel shelf.

For entertainment on the drive, the new car comes strapped with a quality audio system which has an iPod friendly USB port. As for the engine, the Honda Jazz X draws energy from the same thrifty 1.2-litre i-VTEC motor that expels 89 bhp. The fuel-cautious engine has been coupled with the very same 5-speed manual gear box.

On the outside, the different comes with fog lamps that weren't there earlier. They not only beautify the car but also offer enhanced visibility. The Honda Jazz X also comes with mud guards as standard both in the front and rear. Bottom line: The Jazz just got jazzier with the entry of the Jazz X. To add to the car's jazz, the Jazz X comes in a cool new colour, Rallye Red. Other five colours, Tafetta White, Alabaster Silver, Crystal Black Pearl, Sherbet Blue and Deep Sapphire Blue that were already available will still be available.

This is what Mr. Tatsuya Natsume, Director Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. said during the launch ceremony of the Jazz X: "We are delighted to expand the choice of variants for our customers of Jazz with the new Jazz X Grade. The new variant is a result of extensive customer feedback and will offer sporty looks, enhanced interior and exterior styling, and exhilarating driving experience."

The Honda Jazz has already been the recipient of a couple of awards from NDTV Profit - Car India and Bike India Awards 2010. The car that made its debut in June 2009 has the 'Car of the Year' and 'Small Car of the Year' awards given on it. The Jazz X, just like the earlier variants, carries all Honda attributes with pride; global design, reliable drivability, fuel economy and safety.

The only other change that Honda could have made in the Jazz X would me in the car's price. This new car is apparently the costliest hatchback in India. The Jazz was already the most expensive hatchback in the country and Honda has added a few more thousands to the tag of the Jazz X. The car maker just has to set right the price and may be the sales numbers will automatically climb high.
